Topic: What do human rights have to do with med students? What is asylum?

Please join us for discussion on the roles and opportunities for physicians as human rights advocates with Global Health & Disparities Path of Excellence leadership, UMAC student leadership, and Dr. Vidya Ramanathan, Director of the UM Asylum Collaborative (UMAC), on caring for and evaluating survivors of human rights abuses seeking humanitarian protection in the United States. We hope our gatherings will serve to inspire medical students and physicians throughout the journey of humanitarian advocacy.
